Tucker Carlson Tells Megyn Kelly: Despite Working In It For Decades ‘I Don’t Really Understand Politics’

"I stay at 35,000 feet, which is the only place I'm comfortable or competent."

Tucker Carlson has been one of the most prominent political commentators in recent memory. But in a recent interview with Megyn Kelly he admitted he doesn’t fully understand that world.

Reports surfaced last week that Carlson served as an intermediary between presidential candidates Donald Trump and Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to end the latter’s campaign and endorse the Republican nominee.

While appearing on The Megyn Kelly Show, Carlson denied those rumors before freely admitting he doesn’t have a great handle on the political sphere.

“I definitely didn’t broker anything. That’s not my role in life. I’m not good at that. I would never. I just wouldn’t do it,” he shared. “My only role — just in general — is knowing a lot of people, liking a lot of people. I always try to connect people. ‘You should meet so and so.’ But I’m not a political actor. (I’m) not good at it.

“I don’t really understand politics. Most of my political predictions are wrong. I stay at 35,000 feet, which is the only place I’m comfortable or competent. And the second I’ve been lured into saying, ‘Oh, this race and this state is going to go that way,’ I get humiliated because I don’t really understand it.”

Tucker Carlson continued by noting that he obviously knows both Trump and RFK Jr. well, and likes both of them, but couldn’t be construed as someone who brought them together politically. He then reiterated that “I have no idea what I’m talking about,” when it comes to what goes on behind the scenes politically.
