CNN anchor Dana Bash sat down for a joint interview with Kamala Harris and Tim Walz Thursday, and the conversation saw a big audience.
According to the network, just under 6 million people (5.987 million) tuned in at 9 PM ET as Harris gave her first sit-down interview since becoming the Democratic nominee for President.
In the interview, Bash asked the Vice President what day one of her presidency would entail, among a variety of other topics in the pre-taped interview that was edited for primetime.
CNN reports that — excluding the June debate between Republican nominee Donald Trump and President Joe Biden, which was the largest audience in network history — the 9 PM ET airing of the interview by Dana Bash was CNN’s best performance in that daypart since the inauguration of Biden in January 2021.
The network added that, according to early estimates from Nielsen, its viewership in the window surpassed both Fox News and MSNBC combined.
