Senate Races Propel Political Advertising to Nearly $2 Billion Between Labor Day and 2024 Election

The political advertising world is about to spend nearly $2 billion between Labor Day and the 2024 election, new AdImpcat data shows.

Tight Senate races are the primary cause of the overwhelming amount of advertising being spent by candidates, PACs, parties, and issues-based organizations.

Pennsylvania leads states in reservations for the time window, AdImpact says. $305 million has been reserved between Labor Day and Election Day. The other top five states earning high political dollars are Ohio, Michigan, California, and Arizona.

Individual markets like Philadelphia ($127.4 million), Las Vegas ($107.6 million), and Phoenix ($107.5 million) are all expected to see triple-digit spending during that timeframe. Meanwhile, locales like Los Angeles ($84.6 million) and Detroit ($81.6 million) are not far behind.

In total, Senate campaigns account for $603 million in reservations, while House races make up $458 million, and the Presidential election will see $401 million, totaling $1.8 billion in national political advertising.
