Civic Media has announced the addition of Dom Salvia for afternoons across its 10-station group of liberal news/talk stations in Wisconsin, replacing Mike Crute.
“Dom is an experienced and professional broadcaster and a treasured voice to thousands across the state. We’re delighted to have him bring his signature take on state and national politics to our audience,” a statement from the company read about the appointment of Salvia to afternoons. “His listeners will be able to continue getting his unique commentary on the news of the day. We look forward to hearing from Dom and a rotating cast of co-hosts and guests, particularly as we lead into this important election season.”
“I am jazzed as hell to rejoin the Civic Media team and look forward to engaging with the audience for the most important election of our lifetime!” Salvia said.
Crute and Salvia had previously hosted afternoons together. Mike Crute was a member of the Civic Media ownership team when it launched in 2022, but exited that role last year. In his final show last week, Crute — according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel — said he requested to be paid for his work with the station “and apparently this product does not merit pay,” he said.
“We have been informed that we’re not welcome beyond the election, that we’re not a part of the future of Civic Media, and if that’s the case, then we’re not a part of the future of Civic Media starting now,” he concluded.
