Dan Bongino Tells Tucker Carlson: I Knew I Didn’t Have a Long Shelf Life With Corporate Media

"Listen, man, I can't work for anyone. I'm too old for this crap."

During his time in the news media world, Dan Bongino has been a somewhat volatile figure, similar to Tucker Carlson. He believes that’s a byproduct of simply not being built to work for a corporate media entity.

As a radio host, Bongino famously declared he would leave Cumulus Media and Westwood One at the conclusion of his contract after the company followed COVID-19 required vaccine mandates. In December 2023, however, Bongino inked an extension to remain with the radio broadcaster after it ended its vaccine requirements for employees.

Like Tucker Carlson, he also departed Fox News, where he hosted a weekend program. During Carlson’s nationwide tour stop in Tulsa, he asked Bongino when he figured he didn’t “have a super long future in corporate media.”

“I knew it. I knew it,” Dan Bongino reiterated. “Listen, man, I can’t work for anyone. I’m too old for this crap. I have a set of ideas and things I’m gonna say, and I don’t really give a damn about having some moral or ethical sensor over me. There are a lot of things on my show I wish I could change.”

In addition to his nationally syndicated radio show, Dan Bongino also hosts a daily podcast that features a video simulcast on Rumble. He noted the difference between that program — which isn’t governed by FCC regulations — is a stark contrast to what radio listeners will hear.

“I met a lady in the photo line. Super nice. She’s obviously here, she’s in the VIP thing, and she’s like, ‘Dan, you know I love your show, but you really have to stop cursing.’ I said, ‘I’m with you.’ I know she’s right. Like, I love Jesus, man, I love Jesus. Jesus doesn’t like when people curse. But there’s a part of me that really is hard to dig out, and it’s this New York part of me,” Bongino shared. “And when I’m dropping like a massive F-bomb, believe me, I’m not proud of myself. I got kids, too. Sometimes I think, ‘Gosh, my 12-year-old’s probably watching this. But I’m just a really passionate guy.”
