David Muir on Criticism of ABC News Presidential Debate: ‘That’s Just Noise’

“I believe it was our duty to ask the issues that that Americans care about.”

David Muir and Linsey Davis took criticism from many pundits after the ABC News Presidential Debate. The ABC World News Tonight anchor is brushing it off his shoulder and moving on.

While appearing on the daytime Live with Kelly and Mark program, Muir was asked about the debate, and he noted he doesn’t take the criticism too seriously.

“All of the noise that you hear afterward about you know, ‘Which candidate won the debate, did the moderators win or lose?’” Muir said. “That’s just noise.”

Republican nominee Donald Trump, who participated in the event opposite Democratic candidate Kamala Harris, argued that the debate was “three on one”, sharing his belief that Davis and Muir helped Harris.

While defending his performance, David Muir argued that the questions — like those on abortion, the economy, and immigration — and fact-checks during the televised debate were questions on the minds of potential voters.

“I believe it was our duty to ask the issues that that Americans care about,” Muir said. “Those types of questions—reproductive rights, Afghanistan, to bear any responsibility a peaceful transfer of power with the next election coming—these are all really important issues, the issues of our time.”

Muir told the hosts that he “basically disappeared” at the end of the summer in preparation for the debate because he took the opportunity “very seriously.”

  1. We have a signed and notirized affidavit from the whistleblower stating their bias, a list if questions they couldn’t ask, and that she had sample questions.
It also details the hate for DT at ABC

  2. The noise was you and your partner. Both of you committed serious journalistic conflicts. You are both severely biased against Trump as is your network. You do not deserve to be called a journalist. I call you a democrat staffer for ABC News!
