ESPN College GameDay, which now features former Alabama head coach Nick Saban, is off to its best start in more than a decade. The first three shows have averaged 2 million viewers. The show is averaging 2.6 million viewers in the final hour of the show which airs on Saturday mornings from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. ET.
This information does not include the Week 0 College GameDay broadcast from Ireland which drew 1.55 million viewers.
According to ESPN, this is the second-best start for the show in its history.
In addition to Saban, the show features Rece Davis, Desmond Howard, Pat McAfee, Lee Corso and Kirk Herbstreit. The show started back in 1987 with Tim Brando and Beano Cook joining Corso. In 1993, the show began incorporating live, on-site broadcasts from various college campuses. Davis replaced Chris Fowler who stopped hosting the show after the 2014 season.
