NBC and Sunday Night Football had a big weekend as almost all NFL programming is up year over year. The Sunday Night Football game featured the Chicago Bears and rookie quarterback Caleb Williams taking on CJ Stroud and the Houston Texans. The game averaged 20.3 million viers.
That number is a 6% increase over last year’s SNF Week 2 game. That game saw the Miami Dolphins taking on the New England Patriots.
NBC said with an average of 21.4 million viewers across NBC and Peacock, Sunday Night Football is off to the best three-game start since 2015.
In the local markets, Chicago led the way over Houston, and they were followed by Milwaukee, Kansas City, Minneapolis, Austin, San Antonio, Cincinatti, Las Vegas and Denver as the top 10 markets for the game.
This coming weekend, the two-time defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs will make their second appearance on Sunday Night Football as they take on the Atlanta Falcons.
