CNN Anchor Pamela Brown to Begin Anchoring CNN Newsroom Next Week

"Can't wait to get going, and hope you tune in."

After being away on maternity leave, CNN anchor Pamela Brown is set to begin anchoring the 11 AM ET edition of CNN Newsroom next week.

In her absence, the show has been anchored by the legendary host Wolf Blitzer.

“Many of you know Pamela for her excellent investigative work, including her Emmy-nominated investigation into sexual assault and misconduct within the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, which led to Congressional inquiries and systemic change at the top of the Coast Guard Academy,” Blitzer told viewers Friday. “It has been my pleasure to fill in for her and work with Executive Producer Brian Bell and his truly terrific staff. I want to thank them for their excellent work.”

Brown took to social media to confirm her return, thanking Blitzer for his kind reception.

“Thank you (Wolf Blitzer) for the generous handoff and for keeping the seat warm the past few months,” Brown wrote. “Can’t wait to get going, and hope you tune in.”

Pamela Brown will anchor her first edition of the midday program on Monday.

After Brown’s return, Blitzer will continue anchoring The Situation Room for CNN, which airs weekdays at 6 PM ET.
