Shohei Ohtani did something not many other major league baseball players have ever done, in the same game he accomplished something no other player had ever done. In the Los Angeles Dodgers 20-4 win over the Miami Marlins, Ohtani went 6 for 6 with 3 home runs and 10 RBI while stealing 2 bases. That in itself could be celebrated as one of the best games in the history of the game. However, it was the bigger history made, which was Ohtani getting to and then going over 50 home runs and 50 stolen bases in one season, something that had never been done before.
Many reacted on social media to the amazing accomplishment and saluted Ohtani for what he did this season:

And no one had ever gone 6-for-6 with 3 homers, 5 extra-base hits and 2 steals.
Shohei Ohtani did it on the day he christened the 50-50 Club.
There is only one Shohei Ohtani. Incredible.

Last week for @espn Sunday night baseball. @Buster_ESPN asked teammates and coaches the greatest thing they’d seen Ohtani do. Many pointed to the day he stole his 40th and hit a walk off granny for number 40. New entry today with a 5×5 7RBI effort to get to 50/50. Silly
