New Jersey 101.5 has announced plans for a special town hall broadcast centered on issues facing public education in the state.
On Thursday, September 26th at 7 PM, the Townsquare Media news/talk station will host “Crisis in the Classroom — New Jersey’s Greatest Educational Challenges.”
New Jersey 101.5’s Eric Scott will lead the discussion that will feature a video simulcast on Facebook, the station’s YouTube channel, its website, along with the New Jersey 101.5 app.
“One of the biggest controversies this school year is the use of cell phones in class,” Scott said. “It’s an example of how teachers are struggling to keep kids focused on learning in a post-pandemic world.”
The program’s panel will include New Jersey state Senator Vin Gopal; Mary E. Coogan, president and CEO of Advocates for Children of New Jersey; Jackson School District Superintendent of Schools Nicole Pormilli; Hamilton Township (Mercer County) Superintendent of Schools Dr. Scott Rocco; Eileen Burke Heddy, Ed.D., director of the Office of Support for Teacher Education at The College of New Jersey; and Middletown Board of Education member Kate Farley.
