In one of the most unique stunts in some time, Hutton Broadcasting’s Top 40 KKDG (99X)/Durango, CO, has dropped the format in favor of 99.7 Doggy FM music for and about dogs.
The station features ‘The Benji & Toto Show’ barking and calls itself “the first Durango radio station exclusively designed for dogs.”
Hutton Broadcasting Four Corners General Manager Jack Llewellyn said, “Durango loves their dogs. We believe that dogs deserve to enjoy the same level of entertainment and enrichment as humans. By creating a station specifically for them, we hope to provide a valuable resource that enhances their quality of life.”
The station’s website states, “Welcome to Doggy FM, your new go-to station for dogs and their owners! Broadcasting across Durango and streaming across the world here on visitfourcorners.com, we’re shaking things up with a format designed specifically for your furry best friend. Whether you’re out on a walk, playing fetch, or relaxing at home, Doggy FM has the perfect mix to keep tails wagging and spirits high.”
Continuing, “Our playlist is a unique blend of tunes to keep you and your pup in sync, from upbeat tracks for active moments to calming sounds for those cozy cuddle times. Doggy FM doesn’t just play music—it creates the soundtrack to your dog’s day, enhancing every moment together.
