ABC is College Football’s Most-Watched Network Through First Month of Season

The network has aired six of the top seven most-viewed games of the season and seven of the top 10.

ABC is off to a big start in the first month of college football season. The network reports it is the most-watched network for college football through the first month of the 2024 season ABC ranks No. 1 in average audience and total minutes viewed. The network has aired six of the top seven most-viewed games of the season and seven of the top 10.

ABC Saturday Night Football is averaging 7.3 million viewers – up 123% over last season. This is the franchise’s best audience through the first five weeks of the season since 2011. In primetime, the top five games of 2024 thus far have all aired on ABC.

Through September, ABC is averaging 5.5 million viewers for college football games, marking ABC’s best five-week start since 2016 and second best since 2011.

Some of the top broadcasts include the Sept. 28 primetime matchup between Georgia and Alabama, which has drawn the top audience of 12 million, almost four million more than the second-best game which featured USC and LSU on Sept. 1. Two other games have had audiences of more than seven million, the primetime Notre Dame-Texas A&M game on Aug. 31 and the Clemson-Georgia game played earlier that day.
