Grupo Berumen and Steel City Media have joined forces to introduce “Radio Las Palmas” to WLTJ-HD2 (92.9), catering to the Hispanic community in western Pennsylvania.
The radio station operates from the Beechview neighborhood in Pittsburgh. “Radio Las Palmas” 92.9 HD2 will showcase music from Central and South America, along with news, sports, live air talent, and community outreach.
The economic group El Grupo Berumen, led by the Berumen brothers, has a significant presence in the city of Pittsburgh. One of their notable businesses is the ownership of the largest chain of Latino supermarkets, Las Palmas. Alongside Erick Serrano, Mateo Mattos, and Manuel Moya, they were instrumental in founding Palmas Radio.
WLTJ-HD2 had been home to La Mega Media’s “Mega 92.9.”
Pittsburgh’s Steel City Media operates multimedia stations in Kansas City and Pittsburgh.
