FOX Sports Sees Largest LCS Opener Since 2009; Draws 8.5 Million Viewers for Mets-Dodgers Game 1

FOX Sports drew 8.484 million combined viewers for Game 1 of the NLCS between the New York Mets and Los Angeles Dodgers. FOX averaged 8.264 million viewers, with the other viewership coming from FOX Deportes and FOX Sports streaming services.

The game was the most-watched LCS Game 1 on any network wince 2009. It was up 119% from last year’s NLCS Game 1 which featured the Philadelphia Phillies and the Arizona Diamondbacks. The game peaked on FOX at 10.082 million viewers from 8:15 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. ET.

FOX Sports reports the game was also the most-streamed NLCS Game 1 in FOX Sports History. FOX Deportes saw an average of 220,000 viewers, which makes it the second-best start to a NLCS in Spanish TV history.

The Dodgers won the game 9-0 after leading 3-0 after two innings and 6-0 after four innings. The Mets would come back to win Game 2 by the score of 7-3 to even the series

To date, the postseason on FOX and FS1 is averaging 4.486 million viewers. That makes it the networks’ best MLB postseason-to-date since the launch of postseason baseball on FS1 in 2014.
