ESPN Signs Extensions with NBA/WNBA Commentators Chiney Ogwumike, Kendrick Perkins, Tim Legler and Monica McNutt

ESPN has announced multi-year extensions with a group of its basketball commentators as the NBA season gets ready to begin and the WNBA season comes to a close. Chiney Ogwumike, Kendrick Perkins, Tim Legler and Monica McNutt all received multi-year extensions to continue with the network.

Ogwumike made history by serving as a full-time analyst and a full-time athlete simultaneously, and she has expanded her role in recent years to include studio analysis for the NBA, WNBA and Women’s College Basketball. She also regularly appears on NBA Countdown, NBA Today, WNBA Countdown, NCAA Championship in The Studio as well as Get Up, First Take and SportsCenter. She has also added hosting on NBA Today on select days as well. Ogwumike becomes the first female personality to work on both NBA Countdown and WNBA Countdown.

Kendrick Perkins, who joined ESPN in 2019 following his NBA career, has expanded his role with the network and will appear on both ESPN and ABC editions of NBA Countdown and will also continue as an analyst on NBA Today, Get Up, First Take, SportsCenter and Hoop Streams.

Tim Legler, who had previously called games on ESPN Radio, will now also be an analyst of NBA games on ESPN. In his 24th year with the network, Legler regularly appears as an analyst in the studio, on SportsCenter and more.

Monica McNutt will appear on NBA and WNBA live event and studio coverage. She also works as an analyst on WNBA game coverage and in the studio for WNBA Countdown. She makes regular appearances on Get UpFirst TakeSportsCenterHoop Streams and WNBA game and studio coverage. She is also one of ESPN’s NBA sideline reporters and is the radio analyst for the New York Knicks.
