Last month, Jim Rome announced he was launching a free, ad-supported streaming television (FAST) channel centered around his content. And he recently shared he might have unique programming ideas for the outlet.
During The Jim Rome Show on Infinity Sports Network, Rome read an email from a listener that said one of the regular callers — known as “Clones” — of the program deserved his own show. That’s when the longtime nationally syndicated radio host said it’s something he has already kicked around.
“I’ve got a Rome FAST channel,” said Rome. “We have to program the entire channel. Don’t think that I couldn’t give you Clones — if I could justify it, I’m not just doing it to do it, believe me, I had to bust my own ass just to get one and I’m 30 years in — but don’t think that I couldn’t develop something for one of you Clones … Don’t think that I haven’t thought about it.
“We need to create content. Now, I can purchase content. I can license content. Or, I can create it from within,” he admitted.
The Rome FAST channel debuted on Samsung TV+, Amazon Prime Video, Vizio, LG, and Plex. At the launch of the channel, The Jim Rome Show added an additional hour exclusive to the new endeavor that he co-hosts with former NFL player Will Blackmon.
In addition to his FAST channel, Rome’s nationally syndicated radio show features a video simulcast on the X social media platform.
