Fox News anchor Bret Baier sat down with Kamala Harris for an interview watched by millions last week. It helped the network stay on top of the cable TV ratings.
More than 9 million viewers watched the at times contentious interview between Baier and Harris last week between its original airtime at 6 PM ET and a replay at Midnight. The interview was the highest-rated, non-primetime interview in the history of cable news. It was the second most-watched broadcast in all of cable television for the week behind ESPN’s Monday Night Football.
For the week of October 14th, Fox News averaged 1.6 million viewers in the total day (6 AM-6 PM ET) ratings. In primetime, the network saw an average of 2.6 million viewers and 331,000 in the Adults 25-54 demographic. The network led all of cable television in both categories for the 41st consecutive week.
Special Report with Bret Baier — thanks to the interview with Kamala Harris — saw an increase of 53% in total viewers and a 63% increase in the Adults 25-54 demo compared to the same time period a year ago.
Additionally, The Faulkner Focus — hosted by Harris Faulkner — featured a town hall with former President Donald Trump centered on the top issues facing female voters. The 11 AM ET broadcast saw 3.1 million viewers, besting all of its cable news competition combined. It was the second highest-rated show in program history. For the week, the program averaged 2.1 million viewers, up 24% compared to the same week in 2023.
During the week, 81 of the top 100 broadcasts on cable news were from Fox News.
