Loud Media has officially launched Alternative Atomic 106, in Knoxville, TN. This move follows the recent transition of Rock WVLZ from 106.1 to 850/93.7 last week.
The station has reintroduced the format to the Knoxville market, branding itself as “Everything Alternative.” This marks the first return of this format since Midwest Communications transitioned 94.3 WNFZ to Variety Hits “Jack-FM” in March 2019.
Atomic 106 will include United Stations’ “The TJ Show” in its morning lineup as the program shifts from the afternoon slot previously held at sister station Hits 104.9.
An early listen included Florence + The Machine, Social Distortion, Queens Of The Stone, U2, and Portugal, The Man.
