Connie Chung is a legendary news pioneer. But in a recent podcast interview with Fox News anchor Martha MacCallum, she shared she’s glad she’s no longer in the business.
On The Untold Story with Martha MacCallum, Chung shared that the current news world would leave her in a position where she would struggle with her mental health.
“I’m overly wrought with fear of what’s happening in our world, but I also fear the situation in the Middle East and the growing war that seems just on the brink,” Chung admitted. “And I fear Russia. I fear Putin so much I can’t sleep, if you want to know the truth.
“And if were I in news today, I think I would be just fraught with anxiety about everything in the world,” Chung continued. “It’s such a frightening period … I’m obsessed with the news, and I wonder, I really wonder, how it’s all going to turn out.”
Connie Chung also discussed her groundbreaking career with the Fox News anchor. She recently released her autobiography Connie: A Memoir, which detailed her rise through the news media ranks in spite of being a minority woman at a time when even white women struggled to gain a foothold in the industry.
