Yesterday was opening day for a lot of college basketball teams around the country, including the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, who have a head coach with a side-hustle as a nationally syndicated sports talk show host. FOX Sports Radio’s Doug Gottlieb was getting set to coach his first game at the collegiate level and of all places to do it, his team opened at his alma mater, Oklahoma State.
So, Gottlieb took the show with him and broadcast live from Eskimo Joe’s sports bar in Stillwater, Oklahoma, on Monday, November 4, just hours before Gottlieb’s team took on UW-Green Bay at Gallagher-Iba Arena. Gottlieb’s team would fall 89-76 but only trailed by one point at halftime.
Gottlieb was a 2000 graduate of Oklahoma State and still holds several basketball records at the school. Oklahoma State head coach Steve Lutz was also making his debut coaching his team.
Gottlieb airs Monday through Friday, from 3:00 p.m. ET to 5:00 p.m. ET on more than 230 stations nationwide, as well as the FOX Sports Radio channel on iHeartRadio, and all major podcast platforms. FOX Sports Radio Network reaches millions of listeners monthly on more than 600 radio stations.
