Three weeks after the 2024 election, MSNBC has not rebounded in the ratings. In fact, the network has seen its ratings slide dramatically in that timeframe.
According to data from Nielsen, MSNBC has seen a 47% viewership drop since election day. The Adults 25-54 demographic has seen drops, as well, with the network only averaging 63,000 viewers in the demo during primetime hours.
MSNBC has also seen total day drops, down to an average of 497,000 total viewers, with 49,000 in the 25-54 demographic.
Additionally, Morning Joe — the MSNBC morning show hosted by Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski — has seen a viewership decline of 37% since the pair announced they had went to Mar-a-Lago in an effort to make amends with President-elect Donald Trump.
During the window, the network has only seen 14 broadcasts exceed two million viewers. In comparison, Fox News has seen 248 during the same timeframe. Fox News has been the most-watched network in all of television since election day. It has averaged over 4 million viewers during the timeframe. The network has earned 73% of the cable news viewership overall and 71% of viewers in the Adults 25-54 demographic.
MSNBC is not alone in viewership drops. CNN is in a similar boat, with a 33% loss of its total audience since Tuesday, November 5th.
