CBS News Hires Former Bloomberg News Reporter Jennifer Jacobs for White House Role

CBS News Vice President and Washington Bureau Chief Mark Lima said Jacobs would be "a key member of our White House unit as we continue our coverage on the White House beat."

CBS News has announced the hiring of former Bloomberg News reporter Jennifer Jacobs to serve as a senior White House reporter for the network.

Jacobs began covering the White House for Bloomberg in 2016. During her tenure, she covered the tail end of the Obama administration, followed by the terms of Donald Trump and Joe Biden.

Jennifer Jacobs departed Bloomberg News earlier this year after her report on the return of Wall Street Journal reporter Evan Gershkovich — who was imprisoned in Russia — reportedly jeopardized his release. She has continually denied any wrongdoing related to the situation.

In an email to staffers on Monday, CBS News Vice President and Washington Bureau Chief Mark Lima said Jacobs would be “a key member of our White House unit as we continue our coverage on the White House beat.”

Prior to her time with Bloomberg, Jones worked as the chief politics reporter at The Des Moines Register.
