FOX Sports Announces Super Bowl LIX Coverage Plans, Includes 4K Live Stream of Game on Tubi

Two days before Super Bowl LIX is set to kick off, FOX will present a five-hour stretch of programming featuring its roster of studio programming from FS1.

As FOX Sports prepares to broadcast Super Bowl LIX from Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, the company has announced its plans for its presentation of the championship game. For the first time in its history, the network will present a takeover of Tubi, its free ad-supported streaming television (FAST) service, where viewers can stream the broadcast live in 4K without authentication. As a result, the game will now be available to watch on FOX, FOX Deportes, Tubi, Telemundo and on NFL digital properties.

Last year, FOX Corporation chief executive officer Lachlan Murdoch stated that the company had not thought about bundling content from the Venu Sports joint streaming venture onto the Tubi app. Earlier in the month, FOX Corporation, along with The Walt Disney Company and Warner Bros. Discovery, ended its plans to launch the application. Despite Fubo withdrawing its legal claims upon reaching a merger deal with Hulu + Live TV, DirecTV and EchoStar Corporation filed briefs affirming the anti-competitive nature of the platform. Tubi currently has a FOX Sports channel on its platform and also offers content from several professional sports leagues on FAST channels.

The takeover will include a new pregame show airing from the Tubi Red Carpet at Super Bowl LIX. Hosted by Olivia Culpo, the show will highlight celebrities, fashion and culture taking place at the championship matchup from the Caesars Superdome. Tubi will also air the FOX Super Bowl LIX pregame show and the live game broadcast itself with the expected broadcast team of play-by-play announcer Kevin Burkhardt, analyst Tom Brady and reporters Erin Andrews and Tom Rinaldi.
