1400 KLIN morning host Jack Mitchell is adding afternoons to his plate at the NRG Media Lincoln news/talk station.
Mitchell has hosted mornings since 2006. Now, he’ll add afternoon duties in the 5-6 PM timeslot. He will step into the role vacated when Doug Fitzgerald exited.
The change in afternoons at 1400 KLIN is the third in less than a calendar year. In March 2024, Dan Parsons exited the station after 10 months of hosting The Dan Parsons Show in the timeslot. To replace him, the station added Fitzgerald, rebranding the show as Drive Time Nebraska. Doug Fitzgerald also hosts the nationally syndicated weekend talk show OneShot. Now, Mitchell will host the program, which will be rebranded once again to its previous Drive Time Lincoln title. Rather than focus on opinionated talk from one side of the political aisle, Mitchell’s afternoon show will more closely resemble the LNK Today with Jack and Friends he hosts from 6-9 AM, with news updates and interviews with local leaders and community figures.
