Stephanie McMahon to Host New Show Coming to ESPN+ in March

"It’s really to tell the stories that haven’t been told, and to find out more about the people behind the characters."

Stephanie McMahon, who formerly served as the chief brand officer of World Wrestling Entertainment, will be launching a new show on ESPN+ titled Stephanie’s Places. McMahon made the announcement while appearing in the studio on The Pat McAfee Show in Indianapolis. The program will make its premiere in march that will include episodes featuring WWE stars, some of whom include Steve Austin, Charlotte Flair and Roman Reigns. McMahon is working on the show that is produced in partnership with WWE and Omaha Productions, and it will be part of the Peyton’s Places franchise that currently airs on the platform as well.

The show aired a sizzle reel surrounding Stephanie’s Places, which includes McMahon riding in a helicopter, being crowned at MetLife Stadium and riding on a yacht in Florida. McMahon admitted that she was nervous to embark on the project, referring to it as her “first step back” into the business, but she has found the venture to be rewarding. McAfee informed McMahon that she knows the history of the business and was curious to find out what the goal of the new ESPN original show was going to be.

“It’s really to tell the stories that haven’t been told, and to find out more about the people behind the characters,” McMahon said. “What I want to do is bring some type of advice to the audience. These people are all hugely successful, but like most people, they’ve been knocked around a lot, so, ‘How did they overcome the challenges that were put in front of them? How did they get over certain things to become who they are today?,’ and it’s really their journey. That’s what I’m trying to tell is their story, their journey of how they’ve gotten to where they are.”

McMahon stepped down as the co-CEO of WWE in January 2023 and was participating in her first media interview since that time. In conversation with McAfee, she expressed that she had never stopped being proud but felt as if she needed “to disappear for a little while.” McMahon also articulated that each journey on the show is different as she discovers the story of different participants and disseminates them to the viewing audience.

“In some cases, I’m the younger person who remembers them as a big star and, ‘How do we this?,’ and then in other cases, I’m the older person and I’m trying to pull things out of a younger superstar,” McMahon said. “It’s no one show is the same, and it’s just a lot of fun.”
