Charles Barkley Passes on Joining NBC Sports and Amazon Prime Video to Remain With Turner Sports

“I'm informing NBC that I will not accept their offer. I'm gonna cancel any meetings with Amazon."

Don’t expect to hear Charles Barkley on any other airwaves any time soon. According to Barkley himself, he has declined an offer from NBC and is cancelling future meetings with Amazon to remain with Turner Sports.

Barkley made the announcement alongside his Inside the NBA co-host Ernie Johnson on the Steam Room podcast. “I want to make everything perfectly clear,” Barkley said. “I’m informing NBC that I will not accept their offer. I’m gonna cancel any meetings with Amazon. My heart is and will always be [at] Turner Sports.”

In December, Barkley said he was in talks with Amazon and NBC due to uncertainty around the NBA’s media rights deal. Ultimately, he decided to stay with Turner Sports despite its new deal with ESPN.

“I met with ESPN, those guys are amazing. I met with the TNT people. I’m hoping this deal comes together and I can stay at TNT and ESPN. But as I’ve said, it’s all gonna be dictated on my workload. I’m not gonna work more as I get older.”
