ESPN Radio is making its return to the Tampa Market. iHeartMedia’s WDAE dropped the network at the end of 2024. NIA Broadcasting and owner Neal Ardman has now made an arrangement with ESPN and has placed the programming on 1150 WTMP Egypt Lake and translators 92.9 W225CQ Tampa and 102.1 W271DL Egypt Lake/St. Petersburg FL. It had previously aired Rhythmic Oldies.
The station posted the flip on their Facebook page and said, “As of noon today we are the new home for ESPN RADIO in Tampa Bay.”

The station signed on the air in 1954 and aired programming for Tampa’s African-American community with a mix of R&B, urban gospel, talk and news.
After 57-years in that format, the station flipped to a Spanish Tropical music format.
