Cumulus Media is letting Red Dirt Country 94.9 The Outlaw KOLI Wichita Falls, TX, go dark at the end of the month.
In a lengthy Facebook post, Program Director and morning host James Cook said, “I’m reflecting because February 28th will be the final day for 94.9 The Outlaw. On March 1st, there will be dead air. I truly hope we made memorable moments in this area with an unforgettable soundtrack. I know each song and artist will have a special place in my heart.”
Adding, “I’m so damn lucky… but I’m not done. I will continue my journey with music by diving more into my writing and touring. I’m also excited about my new Saturday night Texas/Red Dirt show on our sister station KLUR. The Outlaw Saturday Night Rebellion! It will feature all of your favorites from the station and more starting this Saturday night. Love you guys… and long live the magnificent music from Texas and Oklahoma! Long live The Outlaw!”
According to Radio-Locator.com, KOLI is 50,000 watts at 436 feet. Neither the station website nor Facebook page mentions the plan.
