Prior to the start of The Jim Rome Show on Thursday, Rome teased a major announcement surrounding the program. Within the first few minutes of the show, he revealed that his program will be returning to SiriusXM starting on Monday, March 10, simulcasting on Sirius Channel No. 161, XM Channel No. 206 and online through Channel No. 998. The addition to SiriusXM is the latest change surrounding the radio program, which recently moved to afternoon drive on Westwood One in early April.

Rome expressed that the show had been working hard on determining the satellite radio component of the program, which is distributed across a variety of audio and video platforms. Viewers of the program live on X could see members of the show in the control room celebrating as he delivered the information surrounding the move.

“That is great news – really good news,” Rome said. “I also want to make it clear that I understand the last two months of satellite radio being off of have been a challenge for a lot of you, so for those of you who found a way to stick with us, thank you very much. For those of you who found a way to consume the content other ways, thank you very much. This is why getting back on Sirius has been such a huge priority around here. We saw you, we heard you. We really did work as feverishly as we could to get back as soon as we possibly could.”

The show was previously broadcast live on SiriusXM while it was being carried by the Audacy-owned Infinity Sports Network, but the arrangement changed upon his move to Westwood One. In a corresponding move, Rich Eisen brought his daily sports talk show to Infinity Sports Network shortly after the start of the year, which continues to be distributed by Westwood One as part of a partnership with Audacy. The switch has allowed both programs to air without overlapping one another, something Cumulus and Westwood One senior vice president of sports Bruce Gilbert referred to as a win-win situation for the company.

“Listen, I know there has been a ton of change around here – believe me, I know this,” Rome said. “I know The Jungle has been growing and evolving pretty dramatically over the last 12 months, and once again, I want to thank all of you for sticking with me, sticking with us. Just know the best days in The Jungle are still ahead.”
