“There was (still is) a massive cyberattack against X,” Musk wrote. “We get attacked every day, but this was done with a lot of resources. Either a large, coordinated group and/or a country is involved.”

X experienced three separate outages throughout Monday, with the first outage happening before 6 AM ET, the second at 9 AM, and widespread outages reported between 10 AM and Noon.

After the third wave of issues just before Noon ET, the platform appears to be operating as normal for the overwhelming majority of users as of 3 PM ET. Elon Musk has yet to share any more information about the attack or the operations of the social media platform since his initial comment.

Both the mobile and desktop versions of the social media app were affected by the issues. A hacking group called Dark Storm has reportedly taken credit for the attack.
