Saga Communications Asheville Media Group’s Spanish Hits La Pantera 97.3 welcomes “Despierta Con Omar” to weekday mornings.
Translated to “Wake Up With Omar,” the show is led by Omar Mayorga, a Venezuela native and 18-year broadcast veteran.
Mayorga said, “I’m thrilled to be part of this exciting new venture. Having been born and raised in a community similar to Asheville, I look forward to bringing my passion for radio and community engagement to La Pantera 97.3.”
Mayorga regards the station as not merely a broadcasting service but as a vital platform for celebrating culture, fostering connections among people, and supporting local businesses. “Our show focuses on reconnecting with our roots, families, and one another,” he stated.
La Pantera launched last year and is Asheville’s first Spanish language station.
