Nate Bukaty is joining SiriusXM FC, the company announced via social media on Thursday morning. Bukaty will make his on-air debut on The Football Show on Friday morning at 7 a.m. EST on SiriusXM Channel No. 157 and the SiriusXM App, bringing his proficiency and passion to the satellite radio provider. Entering the role with experience as a former co-host of The Border Patrol morning show on Sports Radio 810 WHB, Bukaty will blend his radio expertise with his responsibilities as a play-by-play announcer for Apple TV on its MLS Season Pass property.
“Excited to join the team!,” Bukaty said in a post Thursday on social media. “Tomorrow morning should be fun!”
Bukaty has not been hosting a regular sports talk radio program since his departure from Sports Radio 810 WHB last year, which came after 17 years in morning drive alongside co-host Steven St. John and producer Jake Gutierrez. In addition to his responsibilities calling games for Apple, he also hosts SCORELINE for the CBS Sports Golazo Network where he engages in further discussion about soccer. Bukaty has also provided commentary for FOX Sports calling Major League Soccer games and international competitions, including the Concacaf Gold Cup, in addition to serving as the lead commentator for Sporting Kansas City.
SiriusXM FC includes daily programming surrounding the game of soccer and live matches from entities such as the English Premier League, UEFA Champions League and National Women’s Soccer League. Bukaty will join a lineup consisting of former players and coaches, including Ray Hudson, Rodney Marsh, Tony Meola and Eric Wynalda among others. The channel has been on the SiriusXM platform since 2012, and the company recently announced an expansion of English Premier League matches available for listeners in North America by debuting 20 new channels on its app.
