The Daily Wire CEO Jeremy Boreing has revealed he is stepping down as the company’s co-CEO to spend more time focusing on creative projects for the company.
Boreing confirmed the news in a social media post, writing “A new chapter” when news began to circulate that he’d depart his post.
Boreing has been with The Daily Wire since he and Ben Shapiro co-founded the outlet in 2015. Boreing has served as co-CEO alongside Caleb Robinson since 2019. Robinson will take sole possession of the CEO title in the wake of Boreing’s exit from the role.
“When Ben, Caleb, and I founded The Daily Wire in 2015, we set out to build an institution,” Boreing wrote in a memo to staffers. “I’m enormously proud of our team, of our many battles, and of the successes we’ve achieved together over the last decade. And we’re just getting started. I will greatly miss the day-in and day-out of fighting the left and building the future with all of you, but I’m confident we will continue to thrive under Caleb’s ongoing leadership.”
Under his direction, the Nashville-based conservative media entity has grown to be valued at more than $1 billion last year.
In his new role, Boreing will continue to host the company’s Daily Wire Backstage program, a monthly show featuring talent like Shapiro, Matt Walsh, Michael Knowles, and Andrew Klavan. He’ll also oversee production of the company’s TV series The Pendragon Cycle, where serves as the director and executive producer.
“Jeremy’s hard work and brilliant leadership have been indispensable to the growth of this company from an idea to the largest conservative digital media company in the country,” said Shapiro. “Jeremy is a tremendous talent and we’re thrilled to get even more of his creative focus in the business as we head into this next phase of expansion. We can’t wait to see what he does next.”
“We couldn’t be more excited for this next phase of The Daily Wire’s growth and for Jeremy as he pursues the completion of Pendragon and then moves on to work with us on further important creative endeavors we have in the works,” Robinson added. “Jeremy‘s creative contributions over the last decade have helped shape the face of podcasting and digital media. With Pendragon on the horizon, the best is yet to come.”
