As first reported by RadioInsight, Cumulus Media has eliminated seven of its 24/7 music formats.
From their 20 formats, the following are being cut.
Variety Pop Hits: Pop sounds of the 70s, 80s, 90s and 2000s.
Variety Hits Rock: Rock Pop music of the 70s, 80s, 90s, and 2000s.
Hits Now: Top 40 with recurrents and hits from Pop, Rock, Dance, Hip Hop, Alternative and R&B.
Classic Hits Gold: Pop Rock and Soul from the mid to late 60s 70s and mid-80s.
Classic Rock X: Hard Rock from 70s, 80s, and early to mid 90s
Rock 2.0: Built heavily on the Grunge-type sounds of Nirvana, Foo Fighters, Pearl Jam, and Stone Temple Pilots.
Good Time Oldies: Three decades of the 60s, 70s, and a smattering of early to mid-80s.
According to the RadioInsight reporting, Westwood One will continue to offer Adult Contemporary, Hot AC, Mainstream Country, Mainstream Country Gold, Hot Country, Real Country, Nash Icon, Classic Country, Classic Hits, Classic Hits Rock, Adult Standards, and “The Touch” Adult R&B.
