YouTube has announced the launch of a new weekly podcast chart that will rank the top 100 most-watched podcasts in the United States.
The new chart will update every Wednesday and will offer a view of the best performing shows based on total watch time.
YouTube says the content from creators must be designated as a podcast and cannot be solely clips or Shorts to qualify for the rankings. The move from YouTube comes after Spotify announced its own similar feature earlier this month to share more information to creators and advertisers.
In the initial rankings, The Joe Rogan Experience — to the surprise of no one — was the top show on YouTube.
The other programs in the top five included Kill Tony, Rotten Mango, 48 Hours, and The MeidasTouch Podcast.
“Our Weekly Top Podcast Shows chart recognizes and celebrates top podcasters who are redefining the next era of entertainment with engaging, influential, culture-defining shows across a variety of genres like News, Sports, Comedy, and True Crime,” said YouTube Podcasts Product Manager Steve McLendon.
The company has promoted “more features and expanding podcast charts” in the coming weeks after its initial debut.
