KOLA 99.9 has announced it has named Freddy Rivera as its new afternoon drive host, replacing Vic Slick at the Inland Empire classic hits station.
Rivera’s first day with the station will be on Monday, January 19th. He takes over the timeslot from Slick, who departed the station in December after more than 30 years.
Rivera has been with KOLA 99.9 since 2021, working as a weekend host, and filling in throughout the weekday lineup when needed. His previous stops include working in San Bernardino at 99.1 KGGI, at 102.7 KIIS FM in Los Angeles, and in Dallas, among others.
“Coming back to the Inland Empire and joining the team at KOLA feels like stepping into the chapter I’ve
been working toward for years,” Freddy Rivera shared. “This community raised me, and I’m honored to bring my voice home every afternoon. I’m ready to do the best work of my career at such a legendary station.”
“From the first time I met Freddy, I wondered how we could get him in here full-time. He’s an extremely
talented and energetic broadcaster. I couldn’t be happier”, said KOLA 99.9 General ManagerJeff Parke.
“It turns out the best person to take over afternoons was already in the building,” said KOLA Program
Director Gary Springfield. “Freddy is great to work with, and I’m really excited about what he’ll bring to
afternoons for the Inland Empire.”
