Rip City Radio 620 launched in Portland in February 2015 with Andy Bunker and Taylor Danforth occupying morning drive. The show was positioned as “Rip City Mornings with Bunker and Danforth” and for the past fifteen months it had been a staple of the radio station’s programming.
But, two weeks ago, Bunker told the local audience he was leaving. He’s moving to Atlanta to be closer to his girlfriend who lives there and works for CNN.He says he remains interested in working in radio but doesn’t have an immediate opportunity lined up. He’s currently driving cross country to relocate to his new home.
Danforth meanwhile has been charged with developing the second version of Rip City Mornings on 620. He’s now partnered with Dan Sheldon, a local television anchor for Comcast Sports Northwest who has since filled Bunker’s vacancy. The new duo took over on Tuesday May 31st.
