Prime Video’s Patriots-Bears matchup averaged 19.86 million viewers last Thursday. That makes it the second most-watched Thursday Night Football game in the streamer’s history.
What We Know: The game jumped 25% over last year’s comparable game, Steelers-Bengals, which drew 15.86 million. Only last season’s Christmas night Broncos-Chiefs game, at 21.06 million, has drawn more. Additionally, it set a Week 7 record, topping the 2015 broadcast-era high of 17.12 million by 16%. Meanwhile, the audience peaked at 21.72 million between 9:00 and 9:14 p.m. ET. TNF on Prime has posted year-over-year gains in eight straight games dating back to 2025.
What’s At Stake: Prime Video is enjoying its most-watched season ever through six games. The package averages 17.71 million viewers, up 12% from last year’s 15.84 million pace. Furthermore, Prime says TNF averages 3.47 million viewers ages 18-34, 29% above NFL audiences on linear networks. Its median viewer age of 48.8 also runs more than six years younger than linear’s 55.0.
What Remains Unclear: Still, it’s unclear is Prime Video’s streak can continue. With eight straight games of year-over-year gains, it’s uncertain if that can continue the deeper the NFL season goes. Likewise, no one knows yet whether a 2026 game can top Christmas 2025’s 21.06 million.
What It Means: Ultimately, Prime’s Thursday package keeps strengthening its case as appointment viewing. Its season average now sits 16% above last year’s record full-season mark of 15.33 million. Moreover, the pregame and postgame shows are growing too. TNF Nightcap is up 28%, and TNF Tonight is up 21%, versus last season’s full-season averages.
