One of sports radio’s all-time greats has set a date to wrap up a hall of fame broadcasting career. WFAN afternoon host Mike Francesa confirmed on Thursday that his last show will take place on Friday, Dec. 15, 2017.
Francesa says he has no plans to discuss anything about his future. He also acknowledged promising WFAN management that he wouldn’t spend time talking about his plans until he got closer to his exit.
The future will not include a reunion with Chris “Mad Dog” Russo. Francesca says he’s open to different things and has been contacted by some other broadcast entities but he’s not interested in moving to satellite radio.
WFAN is planning to do a few remote shows during Francesa’s final year. He said that future remote dates will be announced this winter.
