WCBS has made many of the rumors regarding the Mets’ move to the station official today. The station unveiled the new Mets broadcast team on its website.
As expected, Howie Rose will be joined in the broadcast booth by Wayne Randazzo, the anchor of pre and postgame coverage of the Mets during their time on WOR 710. Ed Coleman, WFAN’s longtime Mets beat reporter, will now handle those duties.
“This is an exciting time for WCBS 880 as we launch our inaugural season of New York Mets broadcast coverage,” said Susan Larkin, Regional President and Market Manager, Entercom New York. “Mets fans are some of the most passionate fans in baseball, and we trust, behind Howie, Wayne and the rest of the broadcast team, they will consistently turn to this historic station for coverage of their favorite team.”
The Mets’ will make their WCBS debut during Spring Training. The station will carry ten of the team’s Spring Training games.
