Michael Grady announced that he is leaving 1070 and 107.5 the Fan in Indianapolis today. He told listeners that his contract is up “and after some not so easy discussions” he and Emmis Communications have decided to move on from one another.
“You all have allowed me to live out a dream,” Grady, an Indianapolis native, told the listeners. “It’s been an honor and a privilege to talk, debate and joke with you all these past eight years.”
Grady was paired with former Colts offensive lineman Joe Staysniak for Grady and Big Joe. The show has been on the air ever since, despite Grady relocating to New York in 2017 to work as a beat reporter covering the Brooklyn Nets.
Prior to his work on the radio, Grady was a sports anchor for Indianapolis’s ABC affiliate WRTV. He also worked as the PA announcer for Indiana Pacers games.
Regular guests, including ESPN golf analyst Michael Collins and former Colts coach Rick Venturi, called into the final show to wish Grady a fond farewell. You can hear the emotionally charged goodbye by clicking here.
