Daily News Live has been a part of SNY since the network launched in 2006. For the last 13 years, panelists from The New York Daily News have debated the sports headlines of the day.
According to Andrew Marchand of The New York Post, Daily News Live’s run on SNY is nearing its end. It will be replaced by a new show called The Thread hosted by Justine Ward.
Some familiar faces to Daily News Live viewers will still show up on The Thread. They will serve as panelists alongside some “social influencers.” Ward and her guests will still discuss sports headlines, but The Thread will view and present stories through the lens of social media reaction.
The days of DNL seemed numbered ever since the The New York Daily News laid off most of its sports department. The show would often feature panelists that had been recently been let go by the titular paper. The final episode is scheduled for March 16.
