Craig Carton is going to prison. The former WFAN morning man was in court today to receive his sentence after being convicted of fraud at the end of last year. He will spend three and a half years behind bars for his role in a $5.3 million dollar ticket resale scheme.
Carton and his attorneys worked hard in an effort to get the court to show leniency. Former WFAN co-host Boomer Esiason and former New Jersey governor Chris Christie each wrote letters on Carton’s behalf. Carton himself wrote a letter detailing his gambling addiction and history of sexual abuse.
Earlier today, Phil Mushnick of the New York Post wrote that a video from the defense team had leaked. In it, Carton takes responsibility for his crimes and details his life since his arrest.
The court set a deadline of July 15 when Carton must report to prison.
