Matt Mosley Takes Over Mid-Days On ESPN Central Texas

Matt Mosley debuts today as the new midday host on ESPN Central Texas 1660AM and 92.3FM as reported by the Waco-Tribune Herald.  The Matt Mosley Show will broadcast weekdays from 10am – noon on the flagship radio station for Baylor athletics.

“I really have missed it, when a big story breaks, having the ability to jump on the air and immediately react to it,” said Mosley, who’s been off the radio airwaves since 2016. “This was a great chance to break back in, and I’m really looking forward to working with a station that truly cares about radio.”

For a decade, Mosley was heard on ESPN Dallas 103.3 until the host was unable to agree on a contract extension when new ownership took over in 2016.  During the last three years of his tenure, Mosley partnered with Tim Cowlishaw on the ESPN Dallas afternoon show.

A fourth-generation graduate of Baylor University, hosting a radio show on his alma mater’s flagship station is something that’s always intrigued Mosley.

“We’d always said we should do something together, and it never really worked out,” said ESPN Central Texas program director David Smoak. “In the last few months, we’ve been more focused on it, and actually saying, ‘Let’s see if we can get something worked out.’ We came to an agreement a month ago, he was happy, we were happy, we got all our ducks in a row. I think he’s going to be an incredible addition to what we think is already a fantastic local lineup.”

In addition to his time with ESPN, Mosley has worked for the Dallas Morning News and Fox Sports Southwest.  Currently, Mosley is a columnist for the Dallas News, also hosting the Cowboys focused Doomsday Podcast with Ed Werder.  The 10am – noon timeslot, now filled by Mosley, has been vacant since Opening Drive with Ward Whites and Butch Henry ended in January.
