Tony Gonzalez is having a big week. The former tight end will be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame this weekend, and today he received a promotion at Fox.
Gonzalez will join Michael Strahan on Fox’s pregame show ahead of Thursday Night Football. Terry Bradshaw and Howie Long, who were full time analysts last season, will rotate as the third voice on the show during the eleven-week schedule.
Once his playing days ended, Gonzalez was able to jump right into television as an analyst on CBS’s NFL Today pre-game show. He moved to Fox two years ago as an analyst on NFL Kickoff. He will continue in that role this season. He will also provide halftime and postgame analysis for FOX NFL Sunday as Jimmy Johnson leaves the LA studios after kickoff to return home to Miami.
