30 For 30 Launching 5 Part Podcast On Donald Sterling

On Tuesday, the next season of 30 for 30 podcasts drops. It will be a five-part serial about Donald Sterling, former owner of the Los Angeles Clippers, titled The Sterling Affairs.

Ramona Shelburne serves as host and reporter for the series, which was produced in conjunction with The Undefeated.

While the racist comments Sterling made to his mistress V. Stiviano, which led to Sterling being forced to sell the Clippers, will be a major part of the story, The Sterling Affairs will try to paint a full picture of the former owner’s time with the Clippers. Sterling’s ruthless reputation in the real estate world will also be explored.

Producers did not slouch when it came to telling this story. The Sterling Affairs will feature many in depth interviews. Amongst them are Donald’s wife Shelly Sterling, NBA Commissioner Adam Silver, Clippers head coach Doc Rivers, play-by-play voice of the team Ralph Lawler, and several players including Andre Igoudala and Blake Griffin.

This isn’t the first crack at a serialized season for the 30 for 30 podcast. Last season the show and producer Julia Lowrie Henderson won critical acclaim for her deep dive into yogi Bikram Choudhury abusive past in a series called Bikram.
