Last week, Richard Jefferson was among the names ESPN executives mentioned in a press release as being a major contributor to the network’s studio coverage of the NBA. Bobby Burack of The Big Lead reports that isn’t all ESPN has in mind for Jefferson.
Jefferson played for eight teams during his 18 year NBA career. That gives him the very unique perspective of having been teammates with a number of the game’s biggest stars including LeBron James and Steph Curry. It makes sense that ESPN would want to use him as much as possible.
He will serve as a color commentator on “a handful of games” during the upcoming season as ESPN figures out his greatest strength. Jefferson will fill the same role on Brooklyn Nets broadcasts on YES this season as well.
