Former NBA players, Matt Barnes and Stephen Jackson have partnered with Showtime for a new video podcast. Titled, All The Smoke, the weekly show will debut Monday, October 21, with future episodes being released every Thursday.
Barnes and Jackson have both worked in the media since retiring from their 14-year NBA careers, contributing to studio shows on ESPN and Fox Sports. All The Smoke will be available on Showtime’s new basketball-themed YouTube channel, with an audio-only version distributed on all major podcast platforms.
“Both men are eager to break down tough topics and engage in unfiltered conversations and intelligent debate with listening and empathy at the core, a novel approach in this era,” SVP of sports digital content and strategy at Showtime, Brian Dailey said in a press release.
The show will cover a variety of topics including basketball, culture, social justice, politics, and music. As depicted by the title, All The Smoke, both Barnes and Jackson are proponents of cannabis and its benefits. The podcast duo first announced their future project over the summer while smoking.
Each episode will be one-hour long, with both Barnes and Jackson serving as executive producers for the show.
