The Kansas City Chiefs have a new home on the radio after 30 seasons with the 101 the Fox. Entercom’s country station, 106.5 the Wolf, is the new flagship of the team’s radio network.
610 Sports Radio also benefits from the deal. The sports talker will be one of the team’s official broadcast partner, getting weekly access to Chiefs coaches and players. The station will also become the home of the Chiefs Kingdom Radio Show on Monday nights and have exclusive broadcast rights to weekly press conferences.
“We are extremely pleased to enter into this new partnership with the Kansas City Chiefs, one of the NFL’s most well respected and prestigious organizations,” Entercom Regional President and Kansas City Market Manager, Dave Alpert said in a press release. “Entercom’s eight station cluster of music, news and sports talk stations hosted by Kansas City’s leading personalities align with vast digital and podcast opportunities, and will deliver the premium and comprehensive coverage Chiefs Kingdom desires seven days a week, all season long.”
The Kansas City Chiefs radio network has 70 affiliates across the country. The Wolf officially takes over as the flagship in February.
